Before we begin, I would just like to say Happy New Year everybody! Thank you for all the support you've given me over this coming year - both with 'Pretty Little Notions' and here on 'Creative In The Arts'. I'm really looking forward to more exciting projects over the next coming year! So in no particular order at all, let's begin!
As the days go by, I can't help but feel excited as this festive time of year approaches. It's almost Christmas, and I for one can not wait to spend the holiday with family members around the dinner table filled with festive treats! But what would Christmas be without a festive story, words of song and a musical treat! Happy holidays everyone! I hope you enjoy these videos, and have a very Merry Christmas!
The End Of Wong Fu: A Christmas Story
Who doesn't love a moral tale reminding them to be grateful for the things they have on their life? This brilliant take on 'A Christmas Carol', sees Ted go through an interesting reality check when Chris comes to show him what his future could become if Ted continues to take Wong Fu for granted.
Jingle Bell Rock
A funky music video and song to get you in the festive mode. It's upbeat, and look at all those props these guys use! Here's another brilliant one take from Kurt Schneider himself, bringing in the Christmas cheer with Max and Macy!
Mall Santa Musical
If you combined musicals with Christmas shopping and Santa Claus you get a song celebrating Santa's lap! What a musical performance. I wish I was in the crowd. It definitely would have got me in the Christmas spirit!

Remember when 'Teen Wolf' was adorable, light hearted and soft thriller? Those days are so gone. God - look how far we've come. This upcoming season looks incredibly dark and intensely terrifying. The Beacon Hills gang are now vulnerable pawns in a game that has really expanded outside the world of werewolf hunters, mythological creatures and alpha packs. This time the gang seem to be facing their worst enemy yet, and this isn't just physical anymore. It's psychological, which makes it all the more terrifying!
Since starting my third and final year of my degree, I have found that I've had less free time on my hands - especially with all the things I've been getting up to outside my classes. Sadly because of all the work and things that I've been getting up to in my spare time, I've really had to cut back on a lot of things I loved doing; reading, watching television and films - basically consuming anything entertaining. My inner fangirl is literally crying on the inside, especially with all the new book and film releases appearing in the pop-culture sphere. So to satisfy my breaking heart, I decided to compile a list of all things fictional, which I will devour during the summer of 2014 when I have finally finished my degree. It's not actually as far away as I thought ... So without further ado, here is my fictional checklist for this upcoming summer!Feel free to recommend me anything that you've loved, or maybe things that have caught your eye. I'm all ears! Maybe you've seen any of these shows, films or read some of these books? Comment below - I'd love to know what you thought of them!
Note: This review contains spoilers under the cut. You do not want to get spoiled. Trust me. |
If you are a fan of The Perks of being A Wallflower, and The Fault In Our Stars, then this book is perfect for you! It's crazy - I actually bought this book as an impulse buy, and I am so glad I did! It may sound crazy, but to me, I feel like this book came a pivotal moment of my life where I had been thinking a lot about life, the people in it, the future, the path I want to lead, the friendships I've had, and this book just addressed it all. In a sense it is literally about the beginning of everything, the world beyond your teen years and how your teenage experiences can shape you. It may seem like a cliché kind of story, a popular kid who falls into the lower heaps of the social chain and learns right from wrong, but this book isn't about that. It is all about the idea of self discovery - finding yourself through struggles, reinventing and defining yourself on your own terms. And that to me, is one of the most beautiful things in life, and this book just executed that perfectly. It is beautifully written, and certain aspects of the book are pretty thought provoking. They actually challenged my perspective on certain topics. There is something about coming of age stories that I love, and this one held a specific kind of charm for me. That being said ... it's not a book for everyone. I do highly recommend it - it has definitely become one of my favourite books of the coming year. For sure.
